  Awesome Zoo spread across a huge green area in the middle of the city. Requires roughly about 4 to 5 hours to cover the entire park. The Zoo is very well maintained and the staff is great. The park is well planned with ample eatouts, cafes and rest rooms. The good thing is it is free entry for kids on weekends.

  Gift shop at the entrance is quite over-priced. Kind of expected. Lots of things to see in a compact area, great for my parents who cannot walk too much. Some parts are still under renovation unfortunately. Quite a bit of thoughtful design for kids as well. Overall it is a good place to visit.

  Wonderful zoo with lots of flora and fauna in a big open space. This zoo has lots to offer for visitors. I particularly enjoyed myself watching the giraffes, the tigers, the lions, gorillas, the ever curious meerkats and the playful hyenas.

  Looking a bit scruffy in certain areas ... They could possibly invest in a couple of brooms and show the staff how to use them ! Numerous areas were closed off too so we didn't get to see everything despite paying for full price tickets. One of the elephant viewing areas was a huge puddle ... It wouldn't have taken a minute to clear it with one of the brooms they obviously haven't got ! The good bits are excellent but the poor bits certainly let the zoo down. The manager needs to get out the office & have a good look around !!

  I went to the zoo again with my son on Saturday (beautiful weather!) and we were excited to see that they had a Trolls party event going on for zoo members. Members were supposed to receive an email on it, but we did not receive any email on this event. Nonetheless, we enjoyed ourselves.

  Food is moderately priced, but it would be nice to bring your own picnic n chill on the lawn.

  Plus for families who do not drive, the train station (Royal Park) is just a convenient minute’s walk from the zoo.

  Melbourne's Zoo is another popular zoo for those who haven't been and is also ideal for tourists from overseas or maybe interstate whom are visiting Melbourne, Victoria. I admire how this zoo is vital changes and improving their animal's exhibit enclosures. There's available public transport which easily accessible to those who don't drive but use public transport.
